Ongoing causes for optimism in the current climate

With so much negativity regarding COVID-19 our C&ID department wanted to create some positive content for the world through the creation of some infographics. We conducted some research to look at the more positive effects of the current situation. The lockdown in many countries has sparked an interesting debate on work life balance and how people are generally happier and more productive when they have the opportunity to work from home – at least some of the time. However, it could be argued that the most praised positive effect of COVID-19 has been linked to the benefits to the climate. Cleaner air, clearer waterways, wildlife venturing into the parts of cities normally bustling with people and traffic. There is the belief that these will lead to further discussions once the effects of COVID-19 are long gone.

Amidst the doom and gloom of infection numbers, it is also enlightening to know that the global recovery rate is also significantly high. Of the more than 25.3 million reported global cases as of 31 August 2020, over 17 million people have recovered from the virus.
