Germans prefer cards over cash amidst Covid-19 pandemic


Up until recently, shops or bars which only accepted cash as a method of payment were not uncommon in Germany. Fast forward to the present day and things are changing fast. The infographic below, designed for our client infineon, shows the preferred methods of payment in Germany during the Covid-19 pandemic. 73% of Germans now use their cards as their preferred method of payment, with 31% of those people favouring contactless payment. Cash is now preferred by just 18% of respondents in Germany. A change no doubt brought about by the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic.
